Who Killed the Electric Car? Part deux.

So I was thinking about it and despite the horrible movie we were forced to watch, the electric car itself is a very good thing. I do not completely understand why they took the car away, because the pros of the electric car outway the cons. Did they take the electric car away because car and gas companys would lose to much profit? Well so what, the electric car does not damage the atmosphere and earth. And in some years with the damage we are doing to the environment now, we won't have an earth left and then it won't matter what kind of car we have. So why did the government take away these cars, they must not really care too much about helping the environment because the amount of cars we have today that emit harmful pollution into the atmosphere is killing our earth way too fast. So that got me thinking, the government must control almost about everything. And how corrupt are they? But I guess that is a different story. If the government really cared they would allow these electric cars to be used and safe dearest mother earth from some pollution. They know that there is a better alternative to cars and not allowing the use of these cars, just kills her even more. I think that we have not respected our earth and it is time for a change.

Procrastination

It is one of my biggest flaws that affects me the most. I am blaming all my problems and concerns with myself on it. I don't know why I do it but I guess there is something that just keeps me from doing things until the last minute. I really don't know what it is maybe lack of self motivation? laziness? I don't know but I have procrastinated enough times and seen what it does to know that it is not worth it to procrastinate, yet I still do. Like I said I am blaming all my problems on it, like why I am not taller. This is because I procrastinate and I don't do my homework until the last minute and I end up staying late and I don't get enough sleep so I don't grow and I get stressed so I get bad skin but NO MORE. This quarter I have one goal: no procrastination. I also still can't believe that summer is only two months away. It scares me to think that in just two years I will be ending all my 13 years at Punahou finally. I can't know exactly how I will feel about this two years from now, but I can guess that it will come quickly. I just hope by then I will not have procrastinated everything I have wanted to do during my time here at Punahou.

Why must all good things come to an end?

These past few days I have been very sad that spring break is over. For a while now, Marlie and I have been looking forward to spring break and now it is over. How did it come so fast, and leave so fast. Just last week I was so happy to be where I was and on spring break, and returning to school seemed far far away. But why is it that spring break has left me sad and anxious for summer, shouldn't I be happy and refreshed for these last two months of school. But then again at the same time, only TWO MONTHS left. This last week of march, april, and may. That is only 44 school (64 week and weekend days) days until summer. How did this year go by so fast, since when will there only be one more quarter left. It is scary to think at how fast this year has gone by, and in one quarter my highscool career will already be halfway over. It is also scary to think about that after this quarter the amount of time that will have passed is the same amount of time until highschool is done, until it is gone forever.
Over spring break Marlie and I visited her brother in college and we got a little taste of the college life, a little taste of the future? I don't know but it got me thinking about my future. It got me thinking that college will come soon and that choosing the college you will attend could possibly dictate the rest of your life.

"Love the life you live, live the life you love."

When hearing this phrase for the first time, this phrase stuck in my head. Not only did it flow well, but it sounded to me that it really is a good line to live by. The first part of this phrase to me is important because I think it is important, especially for me to start "loving" the life I have because it could very much be worse. The second part of the phrase is important because I think it is very important that we should try to live the kind of life we want. But I started to think about it and is this phrase sort of like the "have your cake and eat it too" thing? Is it only really only possible to love the life you live when you are living a life that you want and love. Because you can love a life that you don't live or can you live a life that you don't love. People do it everyday, we obsess over celebrities and love their lives, the lives that we don't have. We wish for the things that they have, and what we don't have. People also often live lives that they are unsatisfied with, and never try to change it. Or if you learn to love the life you already live, in the end will you be living the life you love? I think that I should try to live the life I want, and change so I have a life I want, so I can learn to love it.

Who Killed the Electric Car? Part one.

Today in Chemistry class we had to watch the video Who Killed the Electric Car? This is a movie about General Motor's experimental electric car and why they took it away. As the time slowly passed I found myself sitting, frustrated and in pain that I had to watch this video. I honestly do not know why I felt this way, the concept of the movie was good and it wasn't uninteresting or anything but it just pained me to watch it. I think it is because this electric car seemed to cast a spell over it's owners, when the car was taken away from it's owner(s) they went nuts. I mean I defianetly would be upset if someone took away such a great thing from me so easily but it was just ridiculous to see these people get so attached to a car. If they really cared about the environment so much they could take the bus or walk instead of driving a car. But these people seemed to have a very passionate love for this car, THEY EVEN HAD A FUNERAL FOR THEIR CARS. That is kind of very ridiculous. Maybe people do have funerals for their cars, but I mean probably for cars that they have had a majority of their lifetime and cars that they have grown old with, but see these people only had their electric cars for a couple years. It is amazing now days how attached people can get to materialistic items. I mean I am not saying it is bad to become attached to material items because I most certainly am, but I have found that they can only give me temporary satisfaction. I have found that I have bought (or perhaps will buy) things to try to find satisfaction in things that can not give it to me. The things that I really want can't be bought or are not materialistic, so in the mean time I try to find happiness in material items. I really don't know what I can do about this, but I need to find a way to start wanting what I have and try to have self control over the things I want but don't necessarily need.

Hello [internet] world.

hi.
The internet is such a strange place. It is strange yet convient to me how you can find pretty much everything on here. It is scary though how dangerous the internet has become. I don't understand, I mean I do but how have people raped others through the internet. What exactly is the internet? How have people somehow manipulated others and convinced them into meeting them. The internet is a gateway into a different world, where you can be a different person. Maybe this is why people love it so much and become addicted. Perhaps people feel hidden behind their computer and feel like they can't be judged. I guess the internet allows people to get in touch with people and not be concerned with their appearance. With things like myspace and facebook I guess you can look at other people without them knowing that you are the one looking at their personal lives being broadcasted on the internet. But I guess when people have facebooks and myspaces they know that their personal lives are no longer that personal and private. Today, it is funny how much of our lives and gossip relates back to myspace and facebook. It is also funny how much attention people give to myspace and facebook, people can automatically know the latest by looking at facebook pictures or can myspace "spy." For example on myspace people can read a comment conversation by going back and forth between two myspaces and read the comments they left each other. Or if someone wants to find out the martial status on somebody, they can check their status and see who is on their top 8 or top 20 and where. I guess the internet is a place where you can be anybody you want to be.
